Basketball Game Preview: Cosby Titans vs. Manchester Lancers

The Cosby Titans will head out to square off against the Manchester Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Cosby didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down Midlothian 61-43 on Thursday. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Trojans are ranked 294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Manchester took their match on Monday with ease, bagging a 76-43 win over Monacan. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 33 points or more this season.

Manchester pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.2 points. As for Cosby, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Cosby was taken down by Manchester 72-11 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Cosby avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
