Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Belle Plaine). They came out on top against the Udall Eagles by a score of 64-55 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Belle Plaine got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hayden Whitley out in front who went 7 for 8 to rack up 16 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Maverick Storts, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Belle Plaine smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was James Hornecker, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 16 points along with six boards and three blocks. Hornecker continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jordan Hornecker was another key player, putting up 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Belle Plaine's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Udall, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Belle Plaine has already played their next game, a 67-26 loss against Trinity Academy on the 4th. As for Udall, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-44 defeat against Goessel on the 28th.
