Soccer Recap: Wheat Ridge Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Wheat Ridge and Standley Lake have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Farmers fell just short of the Gators by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Wheat Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Standley Lake are ranked 34th).

Wheat Ridge's goal came courtesy of Caroline Darrow, who's now up to three this season.

Wheat Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-2. As for Standley Lake, their record now sits at 3-1-1.

Wheat Ridge has already played their next matchup, a 6-4 victory against Conifer on the 1st. As for Standley Lake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Bear Creek on the 28th.
