Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Destiny Williams and Jeneen Mason Lead Falls Lake to Victory

The third road match was the charm for Falls Lake, as they earned their first road win of the season. They strolled past the Vance Charter Knights with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 48-34. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 66-23 back in November.

Falls Lake was led to victory by Jeneen Mason and Destiny Williams. Mason posted 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Williams dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Williams also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Falls Lake is 4-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Madisyn Shedd, who had five points.

Falls Lake has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Vance Charter, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Falls Lake won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bunn at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Falls Lake is facing Bunn at the right time seeing as Bunn is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Vance Charter, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Roxboro Community at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Roxboro Community will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Vance Charter surely won't give up without a fight.
