Basketball Game Preview: Barnstable Red Hawks vs. Nauset Regional Warriors

Barnstable and Nauset Regional are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Barnstable Red Hawks will be playing at home against the Nauset Regional Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Barnstable's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matchups.

Barnstable will bounce into Friday's game after beating New Bedford, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Barnstable snuck past New Bedford with a 74-69 victory on Monday.

Meanwhile, Nauset Regional didn't have quite enough to beat Falmouth on Tuesday and fell 59-56. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Clippers are ranked 80th).

Barnstable's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Nauset Regional, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Everything went Barnstable's way against Nauset Regional in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Barnstable made off with a 61-40 victory. Does Barnstable have another victory up their sleeve, or will Nauset Regional turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
