Basketball Recap: Eddie Edwards' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Amistad over Maloney

The Amistad Wolves came up short against the Maloney Spartans on Saturday, falling 64-41. The loss was the Wolves' first of the season.

Amistad lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Eddie Edwards, who posted eight points and three steals. Edwards is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Takki Oliver, who had five points and four blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, Amistad fell to 2-1. As for Maloney, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Amistad and Simsbury will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Maloney, they will take on North Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
