Baseball Recap: Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Gets the Win

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Randolph-Henry Statesmen 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since April 29, 2024.

Matthew Fountain made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Fountain was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Fountain wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dylan McCarthy, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. Nathan Danburg was another, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Randolph-Henry, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot will take on Southampton Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southampton Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Randolph-Henry, they will square off against Windsor at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
