Brownstown Central has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will host the Seymour Owls at 7:00 p.m. Both are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Last Friday, Brownstown Central took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 41-3 win over North Harrison. Fans of the Braves have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Brownstown Central relied on the efforts of Gregory Hutcheson, who rushed for 107 yards on only eight carries, and Micah J Sheffer, who rushed for 62 yards on only five carries. The dominant performance gave J Sheffer a new career-high in rushing yards.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Brownstown Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 337 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 158 rushing yards in 16 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seymour). They simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat Bedford North Lawrence 49-0 on the road. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Owls as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Seymour's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nicholas Wheeler, who rushed for 85 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Wheeler's longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikey Wright, who threw for 169 yards and a touchdown on only 16 passes.

Seymour's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Mason Nugent with two sacks. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Another thorn in Bedford North Lawrence's side was Bradyn Riley, who picked up 1.5 sacks and made five total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Brownstown Central pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Seymour, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Brownstown Central might still be hurting after the 41-20 defeat they got from Seymour in their previous meeting back in September of 2023. Thankfully for Brownstown Central, Bret Perry (who threw for 430 yards and six touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
