Basketball Game Preview: East Limestone Indians vs. Brewer Patriots

East Limestone is on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Brewer is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The East Limestone Indians will welcome the Brewer Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in East Limestone's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

Last Friday, East Limestone didn't have too much trouble with Priceville as they won 64-45. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 168th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

While Brewer didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Ardmore with a sharp 55-33 victory on Friday.

Brewer's win came from a few key players East Limestone will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cason Oden, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Jackson Dunn was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Brewer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.

Brewer's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for East Limestone, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Everything went East Limestone's way against Brewer in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, as East Limestone made off with a 62-42 win. Does East Limestone have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brewer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
