Basketball Recap: Pocomoke Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pocomoke can now relate to. They took a blow against the Snow Hill Eagles on Monday, falling 74-41. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the defeat, Pocomoke had strong showings from Maddie Esham, who posted 19 points, and Alayah Thornton, who earned ten points in addition to six assists and four steals. That's the most steals Thornton has posted since back in December of 2024.

Pocomoke's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Snow Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Pocomoke does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Snow Hill, they will take on Cambridge-South Dorchester on Wednesday. Snow Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
