Baseball Recap: Tazewell Comes Up Short

Tazewell fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Virginia High on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Bearcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Tazewell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braydon Roberts, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That run marked the first that Roberts has scored this season.

Tazewell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Virginia High, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Coming up, Tazewell will welcome Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Virginia High, they will head out to take on Carroll County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Bearcats surely won't give up without a fight.
