Baseball Recap: Wilmington Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Wilmington had lost 13 games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-14 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Arlington Spy Ponders 9-7. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

As for Arlington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Arlington's part, Miles Brown put in work no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Brown a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Dennis Kenneally made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Arlington is 3-1 when Kenneally posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Ryan Marshall was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
