Baseball Recap: Millsap Wins Going Away Against Early

Millsap gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on the Early Longhorns with a sharp 11-2 win. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 5-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Reid Green spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has become a key player for Millsap: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-10 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on CR Tippie, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson Crouch, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Tippie wasn't the only one making solid contact: Millsap kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Bulldogs are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Millsap is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season. As for Early, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.

Millsap will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Longhorns: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
