Soccer Recap: Smithfield Takes a Loss

Smithfield's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the East Providence Townies by a score of 1-0. Smithfield were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East Providence apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Smithfield is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for East Providence, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Smithfield and East Providence will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Sentinels are set to challenge their familiar foe Coventry at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, East Providence will square off against rival Tolman at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
