Soccer Game Preview: Navasota vs. Salado

The Navasota Rattlers will face off against the Salado Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Navasota is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Bridge City 7-1. Considering Navasota have won 14 matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Salado entered their tilt with Fort Bend Willowridge on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Fort Bend Willowridge. Given Salado's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Fort Bend Willowridge is ranked 293rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Caine Cruddas and Gabriel Merriman scored both of Salado's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 32 goals.

Navasota pushed their record up to 20-3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those five games. As for Salado, their win bumped their record up to 20-3-3.
