Football Recap: Luther Lions vs. Kellyville Ponies
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Luther). They breezed by the Kellyville Ponies on the road to the tune of 52-8 on Friday. With the Lions ahead 45-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Luther's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Becker, who threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Tucker Jones also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Luther now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Kellyville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Luther wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 41-12 victory against Newkirk/Shidler on the 10th. As for Kellyville, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hennessey at 7:00 p.m. on October 17th.
