Baseball Recap: McCluer Comes Up Short

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, McCluer was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They lost 17-2 to the University City Lions. The game marked the Comets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Andre Bell made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kae'Lyn Gleghorn, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

This is the second loss in a row for McCluer and nudges their season record down to 6-3. As for University City, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCluer will host Hazelwood Central at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for University City, they will be playing at home against Cardinal Ritter College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
