Softball Recap: P.K. Yonge Has No Trouble Against Interlachen

P.K. Yonge hadn't done well against Interlachen recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Blue Wave put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 8-2 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-4 back in March.

Mickinzi Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emma Mansfield was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alison Sanetz, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

P.K. Yonge's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Interlachen, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

P.K. Yonge will be playing at home against Belleview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Interlachen, they will square off against Taylor at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season.
