Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Ayersville's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Patrick Henry, Ayersville was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Antwerp Archers with a sharp 3-0 win. The Pilots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Archers, too.

While Ayersville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-20, 25-23.

Grace Flory paced Ayersville's offense, picking up nine kills. Flory got some help from Ava Sigler and her 15 assists. Brooklyn Michel controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Ayersville has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Antwerp, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Ayersville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Wayne Trace on the 9th. As for Antwerp, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Paulding on the 9th.
