Soccer Game Preview: Sonoraville vs. Murray County

The Sonoraville Phoenix are taking a road trip to take on the Murray County Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sonoraville knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Murray County likes a good challenge.

Sonoraville made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Murray, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Sonoraville was the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over North Murray on Friday. Given Sonoraville's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 104th, while North Murray are ranked 347th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sonoraville's offense was hitting North Murray from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal. Juliet Kindl led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Murray County managed to keep up with Coahulla Creek until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Murray County came up short against Coahulla Creek, falling 4-1.

Sonoraville pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those six contests. As for Murray County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
