Softball Recap: Three Straight Home Wins for Ephrata

Ephrata's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the J.P. McCaskey Red Tornado by a score of 14-9. The victory continues a trend for the Mountaineers in their matchups with the Red Tornado: they've now won six in a row.

Lexi Palmer made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off one hit. Palmer was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaliana Auchey, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, two triples, and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Aldynne Snyder was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Ephrata pushed their record up to 3-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for J.P. McCaskey, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Ephrata has already played their next match, a 12-2 win against Lebanon on the 2nd. J.P. McCaskey has also already played their next contest (against Warwick), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
