Basketball Recap: Tecumseh Comes Up Short

Tecumseh was the 51-50 winner over Vincennes Rivet when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tecumseh Braves took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vincennes Rivet Patriots. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Tecumseh still got an impressive performance from Katelyn Marx, who went 8 for 12 on her way to 26 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Marx is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Hazel Melton was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.

Tecumseh's record now sits at 8-7. As for Vincennes Rivet, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tecumseh will face off against North Posey at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Posey is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season. As for Vincennes Rivet, they will take on Wood Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wood Memorial will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Vincennes Rivet surely won't give up without a fight.
