Unionville never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Kennett on Thursday. They blew past the Blue Demons 13-6. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Peyton Brown made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Addison Smith and Gracie Brun did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Brun went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Smith a new career-high. Shannon Megill was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
