Basketball Recap: ALA - Gilbert North Starts Season with Victory Against Douglas

ALA - Gilbert North took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Douglas Bulldogs 40-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since January 4th.

Among those leading the charge was Saige Barney, who posted 17 points. Gwen Scheurn was another key player, putting up ten points.

Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

ALA - Gilbert North and Douglas will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Eagles see the court they'll take on Mica Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Douglas, their break will end when they face Sabino at 7:00 p.m. on December 3.
