Baseball Recap: Ingraham Gets the Win

Ingraham hadn't beaten Garfield on the road since May 2, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Rams walked away with an 8-5 win over the Bulldogs. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 6-0 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Landon Hill tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Harry Hayes, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Shinta Unoshima-Van Tassel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Ingraham is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 13-4 record this season. As for Garfield, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-8.

Ingraham and Garfield should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Rams will square off against Cleveland at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (38 vs. 258). Meanwhile, Garfield (ranked 103rd) will meet Franklin (ranked 215th) at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
