Basketball Recap: Hobgood Charter Has No Trouble Against North East Carolina Prep

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Washington County, Hobgood Charter was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They strolled past the North East Carolina Prep Husky with points to spare, taking the game 40-21. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 42-12 back in December of 2024.

Hobgood Charter found their leader in freshman Haleigh Eason, who posted 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Eason has scored all season.

Hobgood Charter's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for North East Carolina Prep, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Hobgood Charter and North East Carolina Prep could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Hobgood Charter (ranked 484th) will meet Northside - Pinetown (ranked 140th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, North East Carolina Prep (ranked 589th) will meet Southside (ranked 290th) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
