Baseball Recap: Cheney Tech Takes a Loss

After flying high against Academy of Science and Innovation on Wednesday, Cheney Tech came back down to earth. The Chargers lost 10-4 to the Somers Spartans on Saturday. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Cheney Tech saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Milvae, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Thomas Fortunato also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Cheney Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Somers, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cheney Tech will welcome Norwich RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Somers, they will host Coventry at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
