Preview: Penasco Panthers vs. Mora Rangers/Rangerettes
Penasco has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Mora Rangers/Rangerettes at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Penasco suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 77-40 loss at the hands of Pecos. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Penasco in their matchups with Pecos: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Mora lost to Tucumcari on the road by a decisive 60-45 margin on Saturday.
Penasco has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Mora, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Penasco couldn't quite finish off Mora in their previous meeting on January 4th and fell 54-51. Can Penasco avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
