Softball Recap: Brimfield Finds Playoff Glory Versus Canton

Brimfield had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Canton Little Giants get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Tuesday. Give the Indians' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

The result came thanks to Sawyer Drury's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Reese Legaspi, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.

Brimfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 23 of their last 24 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Canton, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-11.

As of now, neither Brimfield nor the Little Giants have any future games scheduled.
