Softball Game Preview: Giles County Bobcats vs. Tullahoma Wildcats

The Giles County Bobcats will face off against the Tullahoma Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Giles County's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Colbert County 12-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tullahoma, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Marion County on Friday as they made off with a 13-1 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.

Amaya Sharp looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Avanley Metcalf was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Madison Goad, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Tullahoma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 16 consecutive games.

Tullahoma is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Giles County, their victory bumped their record up to 22-6.

Giles County took their win against Tullahoma when the teams last played last Wednesday by a conclusive 15-5 score. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
