Baseball Game Preview: St. John-Vianney Lancers vs. Neptune Scarlet Fliers

For the second straight game, St. John-Vianney will face off against Neptune. The Lancers will host the Scarlet Fliers at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.

St. John-Vianney barely beat Neptune the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lancers put the hurt on the Scarlet Fliers with a sharp 9-3 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Scarlet Fliers: they've now won four in a row.

Matt Baczor looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, JT Mohlman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ McGonigle, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

Neptune is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8. As for St. John-Vianney, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-5.
