Triumph Charter was red-hot at the plate headed into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the four matches prior) but Sherman Oaks CES's pitchers proved too tough.
Valor Academy's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1. As for Triumph Charter, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
Valor Academy suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Triumph Charter in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Thankfully for Valor Academy, Sergio Olmeda (who struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits) won't be suiting up this time.
