Football Recap: Loveland Comes Up Short Despite Brady Peterson's Big Defensive Game + How To Watch

Loveland extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-5. They lost to the Monarch Coyotes at home by a 38-21 margin. The Red Wolves were not able to make up for their defeat to the Coyotes from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Loveland still got an impressive performance from Jackson Gebhardt, who threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 122 yards on only 11 carries. Gebhardt's longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Loveland's leading receiver Cache Villeneuve was Gebhardt's top target yet again, picking up 79 receiving yards and one score.

Even if they lost, Loveland's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Brady Peterson with two. Tyler Chadwick was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles.

As for Monarch, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.8 points over those games.

Malakhi Payne had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 172 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 121 rushing yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Loveland will face off against Silver Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monarch, they will challenge Greeley West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Coyotes will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.14 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
