Basketball Recap: Camp Verde Finds Playoff Glory Versus Tempe Prep

It's playoff time, and Camp Verde had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 77-67 victory over the Tempe Prep Knights on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Cowboys, who have now won five matches in a row.

Jordan McMahon-Fullmer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 41 points and 11 boards. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Julian Perez was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds.

Camp Verde was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Camp Verde's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points over those games. As for Tempe Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-8.

Looking ahead, Camp Verde will challenge Desert Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Christian will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Camp Verde surely won't give up without a fight. Tempe Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
