Football Recap: Corde Mcdonald and Mckinley Williams Secure Win for Washington Union

Washington Union's game on Friday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They put the hurt on the Coalinga Horned Toads with a sharp 28-6 win. That 22 point margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

A big part of Washington Union's victory came down to the chemistry between Mckinley Williams and his top target Corde McDonald. Williams threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns while McDonald picked up 33 receiving yards and one score.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Washington Union's defense and their three sacks. David Salcedo was especially locked on to Coalinga's QB and sacked him twice. Davien Potts got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Tyson Alvarado and Dominik Aguerralde certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Alvarado rushed for 92 yards and one TD, while Aguerralde picked up 38 receiving yards.

Washington Union's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Coalinga, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Washington Union and Coalinga will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Panthers are set to face off against their familiar foe Kingsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Coalinga will square off against rival Firebaugh at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
