Coalinga kept up with Washington Union until halftime on Friday, but afterwards: not so much. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 28-6 margin over the Horned Toads. That 22 point margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

A big part of Washington Union's victory came down to the chemistry between Mckinley Williams and his top target Corde McDonald. Williams threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns while McDonald picked up 33 receiving yards and one TD.

Washington Union didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Coalinga to a completion percentage of just 44.4%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Alexander Gaytan, Jareal Albert, and Davien Potts, who each logged one passes deflected. Washington Union wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 57.7%.

Washington Union's defense didn't let Gracin Redding, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. David Salcedo was especially locked on to Coalinga's QB and sacked him twice. Potts got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Despite the defeat, Coalinga had strong showings from Tyson Alvarado, who rushed for 92 yards and one score, and Dominik Aguerralde, who picked up 38 receiving yards.

Washington Union's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Coalinga, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Washington Union didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-28 defeat against Kingsburg on the 3rd. As for Coalinga, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-14 victory against Firebaugh on the 3rd.
