Volleyball Recap: Chestnut Ridge Comes Up Short

Chestnut Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bellefonte Raiders.

The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23, 25-27, 25-16.

Leah Vent paced Chestnut Ridge's offense, picking up nine kills. Vent got some help from Emma Callihan and her 17 assists. Finally, Vent was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

Bellefonte found their leader in sophomore Sloan Moore, who had 12 digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Moore. Aubrey Schreppel also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Chestnut Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Bellefonte, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3-1.

Chestnut Ridge has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Keyser on the 6th. As for Bellefonte, they will host Clearfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
