Basketball Recap: Blount Drops Season-High Score on Citronelle

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blount). They blew past the Citronelle Wildcats, posting a 69-13 win. The Leopards have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 29 points or more this season.

Blount found their leader in sophomore Amayah Bracy, who went 9 of 16 en route to 23 points and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bracy has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kendaleigh Wesley, who posted 11 points and eight boards.

Despite the loss, Citronelle still got an impressive performance from Taishauna Moody, who put up six points. That was a full 46.2% of Citronelle's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Blount's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Citronelle, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Blount will head out on the road to challenge Baker at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Blount is facing Baker at the right time seeing as Baker is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Citronelle, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 41-18 loss against St. Luke's Episcopal on the 10th.
