Basketball Game Preview: Southside Christian Sabres vs. Carolina Academy Trojans

The Southside Christian Sabres will square off against the Carolina Academy Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Southside Christian is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Powdersville just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were outmatched by the Patriots and fell 67-21. The Sabres were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-11.

Meanwhile, Carolina Academy lost 57-35 to St. Joseph's Catholic on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Knights are ranked 100th).

This is the second loss in a row for Carolina Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-15. As for Southside Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.
