Softball Recap: Chiefland Takes a Loss

Chiefland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 12-1 to the Branford Buccaneers. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Buccaneers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Chiefland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Branford, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Chiefland will square off against Dixie County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dixie County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.33 runs per game on average), something Chiefland will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Branford, they will challenge Trenton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Branford 3.7, Trenton 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
