Basketball Recap: Triad Comes Up Short

Triad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mechanicsburg Indians. The Cardinals were probably out for revenge after losing 49-46 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mechanicsburg was led to victory by Conner Eyink and Joshua Titus. Eyink went 7 for 13 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven steals and six boards, while Titus went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points. What's more, Eyink also racked up five assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Chris Ritchie was another key player, putting up three points.

Triad's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Mechanicsburg, they moved to 5-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triad will face off against Madison Plains at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Triad is facing Madison Plains at the right time seeing as Madison Plains is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mechanicsburg, they will square off against Southeastern Local at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
