Interlachen is 8-2 against Crescent City since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Interlachen will host Crescent City at 6:00 p.m. Interlachen will be strutting in after a win while Crescent City will be coming in after a loss.
Interlachen made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Matanzas, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Interlachen put the hurt on Matanzas with a sharp 13-3 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Rodney Blackwelder made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Devon Williams and Miles Hoffman did most of the damage at the plate: Williams scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4, while Hoffman got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Williams has become a key player for Interlachen: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Robert McCumbers was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Interlachen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Matanzas only posted an OBP of .382.
Meanwhile, Crescent City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Hawthorne.
Jed Lewis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Crescent City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trivauhn Bush, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Thomas Erkman, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
Interlachen pushed their record up to 7-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Crescent City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
Crescent City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Interlachen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .358. It's a different story for Crescent City, though, as they've only averaged .204. Will they be able to contain Interlachen's hitters?
Interlachen took their win against Crescent City when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3. Does Interlachen have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crescent City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
