 Monday just wasn't the day for East Hampton's offense. They lost  20-0 to the Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 25  runs in the game before, East Hampton's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
 For Coginchaug Regional's part,  Emily Allen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). Allen was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-5.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Ashley Tarquino, who  went 5-for-5 with a  home run, four  runs,  and five  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Addison Costa, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2.
 East Hampton dropped their record down to 1-5 with that  loss, which was their fourth straight  at home. As for Coginchaug Regional, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
 East Hampton will head out on the road to  challenge  Old Lyme at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Old Lyme is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4  runs per game  this season. As for Coginchaug Regional, they will be playing at home against Valley Regional at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both teams will come into the  contest having just posted big wins, so someone is set to suffer a big change in fortunes.
