Football Recap: Wasilla Falls Short Against Ranked West Valley + How To Watch

Wasilla faced West Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The match between the Warriors and the Wolf Pack didn't end well, with the Warriors falling 27-13. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured eight defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Wasilla still got an impressive performance from Brandon Wadleigh, who rushed for 58 yards and one score on only six carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. An impressive showing, but Wadleigh really ramped things up playing D: he picked up two sacks and made ten total tackles (2.5 for loss). Wasilla also got help from Adam Corneliussen, who showed off his sure hands for 95 receiving yards.

Even if they lost, Wasilla's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Wadleigh with two.

Wasilla's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for West Valley, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Wasilla will challenge Colony at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Valley, they will take on West Anchorage at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
