After flying high against Westwood on Saturday, Marquette came back down to earth. The Sentinels fell just short of the Negaunee Miners by a score of 6-5 on Monday. The Sentinels' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Grace Sandstrom made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

Marquette's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Negaunee, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marquette will challenge Gladstone at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Braves will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Sentinels surely won't give up without a fight. As for Negaunee, they will face off against Calumet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Miners will need to watch out since the Copper Kings have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
