Softball Recap: Tuscaloosa County Wins Going Away Against Austin

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tuscaloosa County walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Austin Black Bears on Tuesday as they made off with a 10-1 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 23 contests by six runs or more this season.

Cayleigh Pearson looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 22 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Peyton Earp was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Jaslene Belden was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Tuscaloosa County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 40-13-1 record this season. As for Austin, their loss dropped their record down to 40-19-1.

As of now, neither Tuscaloosa County nor the Black Bears have any future games scheduled.
