Basketball Recap: West Broward Bobcats vs. Stoneman Douglas Eagles
While it was all tied up 27-27 at halftime, West Broward was not quite Stoneman Douglas's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They took a 74-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stoneman Douglas Eagles. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
Ayden Mclean was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 21 on his way to 30 points and five steals for Stoneman Douglas. The dominant performance gave Mclean a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Kuebler, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.
West Broward's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Stoneman Douglas, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Broward will square off against Hialeah Gardens at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hialeah Gardens is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season. As for Stoneman Douglas, they will face off against Lake Worth Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Lake Worth Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
