Basketball Recap: Mcdowell Skates Past Taylor Allderdice with Ease

With a playoff win on the line, McDowell rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They breezed past the Taylor Allderdice Dragons to the tune of 72-39. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Several Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Kossis, who posted four points. Kossis is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 63% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Keith Taylor, who earned six points.

McDowell pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points over those games. As for Taylor Allderdice, they moved to 15-10 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, McDowell will head out on the road to face off against State College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. State College is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. Taylor Allderdice does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
