Volleyball Game Preview: Maine East Blue Demons vs. Maine West Warriors

Maine East is 2-8 against Maine West since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Blue Demons are taking a road trip to square off against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Maine East will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Highland Park, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Blue Demons narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Giants 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Demons have posted against the Giants since May 5, 2022.

Maine East had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-13, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Maine West waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Eagles.

Maine West got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 30-28, 25-15.

Maine West pushed their record up to 29-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Maine East, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season.
