Baseball Game Preview: Downingtown West Whippets vs. Coatesville Red Raiders

The Downingtown West Whippets will head out on the road to challenge the Coatesville Red Raiders at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Downingtown West is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering East just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-2.

Downingtown West saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Connolly, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Coatesville came up short against Henderson on Friday and fell 5-1. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coatesville's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Downingtown West, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Downingtown West couldn't quite finish off Coatesville in their previous meeting back in April and fell 5-3. Can the Whippets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
